Dr. Slivka is a board-certified, orthopaedic surgeon who completed his undergraduate degree in Zoology at DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana, and obtained his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in 1988. He completed his residency at Southern Illinois University and an elective residency at Rancho Los Amigos Hospital, USC. Dr. Slivka also completed a fellowship in Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine with Dr. Neal Small, at Associated Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine in Plano, TX.

Dr. Slivka has been practicing as an orthopaedic surgeon since 1995, and is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons. He was a member of the US Army Reserve and National Guard from 1990 to 2002, and completed an active duty deployment to Germany in 1996.

In his free time, Dr. Slivka enjoys cycling, running, snow sports, music, and weekend hobby farming.
