Kelsey was born and raised in Sullivan County, Indiana. She obtained her bachelor's degree in psychology and then her doctorate degree in occupational therapy from the University of Indianapolis. While practicing in acute care and inpatient rehabilitation, she obtained her stroke certification in 2021.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, and being outdoors.
