About

Dr. Shan Antony is a board-certified family physician at Sullivan County Community Hospital (SCCH), where he brings a personal and holistic approach to the health of the Wabash Valley. Pursuing a focus on rural medicine through his training at Indiana State University, Indiana University School of Medicine, and Memorial Hospital Family Medicine Residency, Dr. Antony’s return to the region represents the culmination of a lifelong commitment to serving rural populations.

Dr. Antony believes that true health encompasses more than just the absence of disease; his practice is rooted in a holistic philosophy that integrates medical, mental, spiritual, and community well-being. This commitment is particularly vital in Sullivan County, where cancer is the second leading cause of death and cardiovascular health remains a top priority. Dr. Antony advocates for a proactive approach to medicine —emphasizing that early detection and routine screenings are the most powerful tools patients have to improve their long-term outcomes. This, in combination with a strong sense of personal responsibility, is the pathway to healthy life.

During his time at Memorial Hospital Family Medicine residency, Dr. Antony trained in adult/geriatric medicine, pediatric medicine, obstetrics, and women's health. He is proud to offer services to all ages and through pregnancy to Sullivan and the surrounding area.

Outside of the clinic, he enjoys spending time outdoors hiking and playing sports. Most of all, Dr. Antony enjoys spending time with his family, friends, and church community. While he is humbled at the opportunity to serve the community as a physician, Dr. Antony sees his roles as a husband, father, and believer as the most important in his life.

Dr. Antony feels strongly that it is NEVER too late to start caring for your health. Human experiences such as addiction, poor lifestyle, and even skepticism of modern medicine should not exclude anyone from having a primary doctor and Dr. Antony will offer a judgement free setting to start the process of preservation and restoration as a team.

Dr. Antony is currently accepting new patients. To schedule an appointment or to learn more about the preventative services offered at SCCH, please contact his office or visit the "Contact Us" page at scch.health
